We visited L.A. in 2011 for Christmas and I really liked this indoor-outdoor living space. The
Schindler house was conceived by the architect Rudolph Schindler (1887 - 1953). It is an excellent introduction to the modernist style that came to dominate South California. It's an open floor plan house, with a flat roof and glass sliding doors. It was considered avant-garde back in the 1920s.
The little story I like the most, is that in summer, people slept out in the open room (last picture).
